1. Founding the Harvard College Healthcare Associates (HCHA) during our junior year stands as one of our proudest achievements during our time in college. We noticed that although many students come through Harvard’s gates wanting to become doctors, many do not have a comprehensive view or understanding of the healthcare industry as a whole. This confounded us. We started HCHA not only to help educate, but also to broaden perspectives showing the vast opportunities and curious engagements in healthcare. We desired HCHA to comprehensively cover major areas of the healthcare industry such as manufacturers (biotech), providers (hospitals), payers (insurance), government (policy), entrepreneurship, consulting, and more. Looking ahead, we hope HCHA helps students define their paths or at the very least learn more about an industry so integral to everyone’s life.
